Built in the 17th century, Villa Louise may seem like a typical farmhouse that has been passed down over the generations. Technically, it is, but what makes it unique is that the family who has been living here and tending to their livelihood and industry. The Perrin family is not only the proprietors of the Maison Louise Perrin brand of wines, they also had esteemed members who have made scientific and cultural contributions to the country. The name of the hotel comes from their ancestor, Louise Perrin de Puycousin, who is remembered as a gentle yet determined woman with a deep love of her family and homeland.
Aside from the Perrins' history of living on the estate for centuries, this land is also believed to have been part of a feudal domain during the Merovingian Era, during the Early Middle Ages.
Design and Architecture
Because of the care and maintenance of the Perrins, the architecture of this farm estate remains largely intact. Its design makes use of traditional building techniques, including lovely solid stonework made of local materials. Old features, such as exposed aged timbers, can be seen in various areas and have been integrated into the overall design.
While the house did undergo renovations and makeovers, it still expresses a notable rustic yet lavish ambiance. Stone floors and antique furniture create a warm, homey atmosphere that makes guests feel they are visiting beloved relatives while they're actually vacationing in Burgundy.

Villa Louise lies nestled in the middle of the Climats de Bourgogne, a sprawling UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing the vineyards and wineries from Beaune to Dijon. If you'd like to explore this historic area, the hotel offers bicycle rentals along with tour routes. The many neighboring communes are also dedicated to viticulture and vinification, so you can also visit the many wine farms and wine chateaus that dot the region. Chateau de Savigny-les-Beaune is one such notable location, though it is also famous for its owner's extensive collection of automobiles and other vehicles, including military machines. The city of Dijon, on the other hand, is home to many museums and historic sites, foremost of which is the Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy.
