Nestled in the sleepy village of Villeneuve de Marsan lies a stylish hotel with all the charms of a heritage stay and the leisurely atmosphere of a private resort. Before becoming a hotel, Villa Marsan was an 18th-century relay station and post house run by the Garrapit family. Representing the fourth generation, Maithé and Hervé Garrapit encourage all guests to bask in the idyllic ambiance, relax by the pool, and explore the nearby Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. Herve, also a masterful chef, operates the hotel's signature restaurant and promises excellent gourmet dining using the region's finest ingredients.
21, avenue Armagnac, 40190 Villeneuve-de-Marsan, France
Villa Marsan was originally a post house and relay station back in the 18th century, operating as an inn and tavern for those traveling long distances by carriage or coach. The Garrapit family runs the hotel and they've maintained their hospitality tradition for over four generations, with members becoming highly skilled chefs. Over the years, the station transitioned into a stylish hotel with a resort-like setting. Likewise, the tavern became a fine dining restaurant serving classy meals.
Despite modernizations over the years, Villa Marsan has preserved much of its classical features. The 18th-century architecture can be seen all over the exterior of the building, from its roof and balcony to its eye-catching medieval window shutters. Similarly, the interior spaces are dressed in 15th- and 16th-century-style furniture.
