The history of Le Pré du Moulin stretches back to the 17th century, when its main structure was constructed in Sérignan-du-Comtat, originally to serve as a local mill, and years later, became a community school. However, the history of the property serving as an accommodation for travelers would be in more recent years, acquiring modern amenities and conveniences for the comfort of aspiring visitors.
The Alonso family, who have since then operated the establishment, has continued to maintain its legacy and is involved in the work of the hotel. Despite its relatively young age, the hotel strives to constantly uphold excellent service and provide a worthy experience to its visitors.
Design and Architecture
Externally, Le Pré du Moulin has preserved and maintained its 17th-century architecture features and design, with its stone walls and other elements that emphasize its age and traditional Provençal heritage. The grounds nonetheless permit free parking spaces, with the lower levels and exterior being wheelchair accessible.
Inside, the property features a far more modernized and contemporary interior design. The centerpiece of its five types of rooms is the two-person bed, with its consistent conventional design. The floors and most of the furniture inside the property are mainly wooden, apart from the standard toilet facilities. Some rooms would have spaces for balconies while others would not. A recurring theme of the hotel’s interiors is a minimalist aesthetic that aligns with modernist sensibilities. Amenities and features of the property are neat and clean in their design, exhibiting efficiency in their style while maximizing space for the use of guests.

The restaurant at Le Pré du Moulin has been recognized by Michelin Guide 2016 for its quality and excellence. The culinary experience at the restaurant is primarily centered around French and regional Provençal cuisine, as carefully crafted by the Alonso family, who also personally oversee kitchen work at the hotel restaurant.
Visitors will be able to savor staple dishes and features of French cuisine along with seasonal local ingredients. For appetizers, guests may choose between foie gras, chutney, Jerome Galis’ green asparagus, tartlets, and Endive salad. For seafood, turbot, cod, monkfish, frogs, ducks, lobsters, and prawns and shrimp are served in various dishes. Desserts include mille-feuille, whipped cream, apple tarts, souffles, flambes, and ice cream. Wine and champagne are offered as well to pair with your chosen meals.
For those with special dietary requests or who have children with them, the restaurant can accommodate such, but would require an additional fee or informing the hotel beforehand. Furthermore, those with meetings or special occasions in mind can seek out special menu services for their events, provided that the preparations are also made beforehand during the reservation process.
Le Pré du Moulin is open to hosting weddings and receptions, offering the same amenities, food services, facilities, and features that are available to those holding seminars or conferences. Weddings may be held outdoors, whether in the garden or the courtyard, or be held inside the meeting room, which can also serve as the restaurant’s dining room for the event. Other amenities or special accommodations guests may be interested in may also be discussed during the reservation process.
Cultural and Outdoor Experiences
Le Pré du Moulin offers many relaxing amenities for its guests, starting with its outdoor pool and sun terrace for those who wish to have fun in the water or bask in the sun. The courtyard provides a tranquil space for reading or eating, and allows guests to smoke as the hotel is a non-smoking property.
The hotel is situated right along the wine country of the Rhone Valley, which plays a leading role in the local tourism industry. From the hotel, visitors can travel along several routes that showcase various wine-making villages and vineyards in the area. Among the routes that visitors can choose to travel through are the Dentelles de Montmirail wine route, the AOC du Ventoux route, the Côtes du Rhône route, and the more recent Grignan-Les Adhemar AOC.
