Le Mas de la Rose initially began as a Provençal farm and a sheephold in Orgon, France, back in the 17th century. For much of its history since then, the property has largely continued to fulfill its intended purpose, with its expansive grounds providing flexibility for both crop and animal raising. By the 20th century, the property managed to remain unharmed and intact despite the events of both World Wars, the Cold War, and the dawn of the new millennium.
Only in 2019 would things change for the property when its ownership came into the hands of Sabine and Franck Adabachian, who opened it as a public accommodation and have remained its owners until the present day. They pushed to renovate the property, its facilities, and amenities to preserve its authentic features and character while also providing its guests with modern comforts and conveniences.
Design and Architecture
Despite its origins from the 17th century, Le Mas de la Rose is a good example of the Provençal farmhouse architectural style. The external features of the hotel are somewhat similar to the nearby Senanque Abbey and the Baptistery of the Fréjus Cathedral, with its distinctive exposed stone walls. Along with the asymmetric layout, low ceiling, decreased height, and consistent use of stone, the hotel exudes a rustic and chic exterior.
These characteristics only partially remain in the interior spaces, where extruding stone now blends with more organic wooden features, and features as a constant design element mainly in communal spaces. Otherwise, most rooms and accommodations instead feature a largely minimalist design with bright colors contrasted with more earthy tones on wooden and tiled floors, as well as in certain surfaces. Except for actual conventional conveniences like air conditioning or television, furnishings and furniture are either designed along Mid-Century Modern or minimalist lines with some neoclassical stylings.

The restaurant of Le Mas de Rose, named Le Potager du Mas, serves locally sourced and organic Provençal cuisine, with the simple guideline that dishes provided must be beautiful, good, and healthy. Among some of the signature dishes served by the restaurant are Provencal lamb, Saint Pierre ravioli, and eggplants with balsamic vinaigrette.
In the morning, guests can have breakfast either on the patio or in the dining room, where hot drinks, home detox fruit juices, scrambled or fried eggs, and many other dishes, depending on the seasonal availability of ingredients and the choices of the culinary staff, are served.
Le Mas de la Rose is the perfect setting for a dream destination wedding. Whether a small, intimate wedding or a grand celebration, the facilities of the hotel are open to accommodate the wishes and plans of interested couples. Guests can privatize the entire hotel just as they could for other special occasions held at the property.
