While most of the story has been lost to time, it is known that Le Brittany & Spa began as a seaside manor built sometime in the 17th century. Hotel proprietress Patricia Chapalain brought the old and new together when she acquired the property. She added a modern building next to the stonework manor, naming it the Batz. Guests can choose between rooms located within the manor or within the new building, whichever suits their tastes. The hotel became a part of the Relais & Châteaux hotel chain in 2007.
Design and Architecture
Le Brittany & Spa's owner Patricia Chapalain did the town of Roscoff a service when she preserved the traditional manor buildings instead of tearing them down. Guests who are fond of traditional architecture and period fixtures and furnishings can enjoy a stay in the manor's accommodations. Those who prefer a contemporary setting with modern decor and design can book one of the rooms in the Batz instead.
Other classical features that can be found at the hotel include the stone arches and fireplace at the restaurant, and the wooden timbers and craftswork at the bar.
Inspired by the beauty and bounty of the ocean, Chef Loïc Le Bail proves himself worthy of his Michelin Star. He and his team at Le Yachtman will prepare flavorful gourmet cuisine using the finest and freshest local ingredients, specializing in shellfish, crustaceans, and fish. Each dish can also be paired with delectable vintages from their wine list, many of which are sourced from local producers.
