Hôtel La Villefromoy

The mansion that is now known as Hôtel La Villefromoy was built sometime in the 1800s, a time of prosperity for Saint-Malo because of the intercontinental trade during that time. The house was later converted into a spa villa, and then into a guest house, before finally being acquired and opened as a boutique hotel.

Since the hotel is located in a residential district, guests can find plenty of other old houses in the area. However, the medieval neighborhoods of Saint-Malo are on the other side of town.

Since Hôtel La Villefromoy was built during the 1800s, the house was designed with French Empire conventions in mind. These include the spiral staircase and rococo interior walls. These are then complemented by modern coastal and tropical touches, such as wicker basket seats and nautical accouterments.

The bedrooms are similarly furnished and decorated, with some rooms having walls depicting murals and paintings of the sea.

Labeling their breakfast as Savourez la Bretagne or "Enjoy Brittany", guests can start their day with a gourmet morning meal for 19 EUR (22 USD). The breakfast buffet will be served in the dining hall or in your room. Aside from the usual continental options, such as croissants and scrambled eggs, they also have Breton delicacies like crepes, craquelins, and far Bretons, which are custards with apples and prunes.
