History

Hotel Biney was founded in 1863 by Prosper Biney, a renowned chef who opened the establishment on Boulevard Gambetta. Over time, the hotel became a favorite hangout of the elite and bourgeoisie who were enamored with its cuisine and environment. One of the big names who set foot in the hotel includes Emma Calvé, hailed as one of the most prolific female French opera singers of the Belle Époque.

From Boulevard Gambetta, Hotel Biney moved to a quieter location on Rue Victoire Massol in the 1970s. There was less foot traffic, and the hotel lost its restaurant, but the new location was closer to the historic center of Rodez. The new hotel location also had a small and tranquil courtyard garden, a welcome respite from the busy streets of Rodez.

In recent years, Hotel Biney was purchased by two childhood friends who also happen to be born in Rodez. Together, they continue to uphold the hotel's long-standing quality of service while modernizing the guest experience.

Design and Architecture

Tucked within the quiet streets of Rue Victoire Massol, Honet Biney is housed in a building with a pale stone façade matching its neighboring buildings. Arched windows and a small garden create a welcoming sight for guests.

Inside, the hotel architecture leans toward a combination of classic and contemporary designs, featuring warm hues and soft lighting to evoke a cozy ambiance. The hotel's reception area and dining area have polished flooring and light-colored furniture, so guests can immediately feel at ease.

Hotel Biney offers 28 rooms spread across 6 floors, each designed to prioritize comfort: comfortable bedding, double-glazed windows, and high-speed WiFi. Much like the communal areas, all rooms have light-colored walls and tasteful furniture with pops of bright colors from the bed linen and pillows.
