COMO Le Montrachet

Boutique Hotels Industrial & Imperial Era
5-Star 8.9(167 reviews)
10 Place Des Marronniers, 21190 Puligny-Montrachet, France

Overview

Boasting a romantic location in a renowned wine destination. Puligny-Montrachet, COMO Le Montrachet provides the perfect escape, especially for couples. The 19th-century inn retains its historic charm and vintage flair both in its facade and the individually decorated guest rooms. The hotel's excellent hospitality was recognized in 2024 when it earned one MICHELIN Key Award.

A stay here is an experience in itself; you can easily explore the wine region of Burgundy and relish mouthwatering local cuisine prepared meticulously by Chef Romain Versino. In fact, you'll start your journey here with a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne on the house!

History

COMO Le Montrachet's journey started in the 19th century as a simple country inn in the quaint commune of Puligny-Montrachet. Over the years, it was expanded and revamped, but enough care was taken to preserve its historic charm. This is evident from the hotel's gorgeous facade. After Singapore-based COMO Group acquired the hotel in 2023, it was painstakingly restored under the supervision of architect and designer Paola Navone. This is the only hotel under the group in France.

Chef Romain Versino had been creating culinary magic at the hotel even before the COMO Group takeover. He tries to add a modern twist to regional cuisine while staying true to the heritage. The COMO Group not only retained the chef after the takeover but also the winemakers and cellar masters so that the hotel could carry forward its legacy.

Design and Architecture

COMO Le Montrachet is dressed to impress, thanks to the exquisite design features introduced by Italian architect and designer, Paola Navone of Otto Studio. She stays true to the esprit du lieu or the spirit of the place while adding elegant details here and there.

The guest rooms will remind you of luxurious 18th-century French estates adorned in Toile de Jouy fabric. Rustic lamps, terracotta flooring, and zinc accents are a nod to the region's heritage. You'll also find exposed wooden beams and stone walls in some places, such as the lobby.
