Before becoming the country house hotel we know of today, Château Des Bondons was built in 1810 as the residence of the mayor of La Ferté-sous Jouarre. He had been given the title of Baron during Napoleon I's reign, and likely sought a prestigious home to match his status.
The estate eventually passed hands over the next decades, with one of them being the novelist Georges Ohnet. Another personality was the shipping businessman Henri Nicolas Estier.
As for its current owners, the Busconi family acquired the estate in 1968. They used the chateau as their residence for the next few decades, but they later renovated the property and opened it as a country hotel in 1991. They also opened the hotel's signature restaurant, Le Castel, a decade later, in 2001.
Despite calling its aesthetics rustic, guests are sure to be impressed by the chateau's posh period decor. The accommodations have been individually designed, with classical aesthetics and modern comforts in mind. The furniture consists of authentic antiques and classy vintage-style items, the dark wood tones balanced by the vivid wallpaper and fabrics. While the guestrooms evoke a warm and homey atmosphere, the upscale suites exude a stately air, befitting a traveling noble.
Just like the guestrooms, the rest of the hotel has been given the period treatment when it comes to its interior design. The restaurant Le Castle features herringbone parquet flooring and shining chandeliers. The venue room is similarly decorated, with an eye-catching tapestry as the centerpiece. The garden terrace, on the other hand, has the vibe of more modern cafes, inviting guests to take it easy and relax with their favorite drink.

Events and Other Celebrations
Château Des Bondons is available for privatizations, offering options not just for company functions but also for large gatherings. For company meetings and seminars, the hotel has a function hall that can be equipped with visual equipment, stationery, and WiFi access. Apart from the seminar itself, the package can also include a meal such as breakfast or an afternoon gourmet, and team activities like golf, horseback rides, or a trip to Disneyland Paris.
For private events, you can try reaching out to the management and see if you can book a private table or privatize the restaurant Le Castel. They have specific days of the week when Le Castel is available for events, though if your planned celebration is of a much smaller scale, it may be better to book a table instead.
