Were it not for the Cameron Highlands' rediscovery in 1925 by Sir George Maxwell, the region arguably would have remained a wilderness to this day. Cameron Highlands Resort began as one of these homes, originally a cottage built back in the 1930s, then expanded into a resort during the 1970s. The resort is currently owned by the YTL Hotels Group, and has partnered with Hilton's Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, offering authentic and immersive luxury stays and services for guests from all over.

The Cameron Highlands Resort fully embraces its colonial aspects, featuring architecture that blends different British eras and European elements. Even when it expanded, the resort maintained its Tudor and hill station aesthetics, such as the French doors and timber-beamed ceilings. Rooms are also equipped with furnished balconies or terraces, as well as windows with plantation shutters, which create a more immersive colonial-era ambiance.

Complementing its architecture is the Old World interior design combined with modern minimalism. The use of dark hardwood furniture contrasted with light-toned walls and ceilings creates a sense of refined elegance. Other notable fixtures that enhance the atmosphere include crackling fireplaces and furnishings adorned with native materials such as rattan.

The Dining Room

Named after the notable American silk magnate who stayed at the resort, The Jim Thompson Tea Room exudes a genuine old-world charm brought about by the vintage-style and antique decor and furnishings. Other Celebrations

Apart from weddings, the Cameron Highlands Resort is also happy to host private or corporate events. They have four function halls available, each of which can be customized in layout and equipment. The Oak Room is the smallest, with a capacity of 30 people. Both the Brinchang and Tana Rata halls can accommodate up to 50 guests. The largest venue is the Cameron Ballroom, which can handle up to 250 attendees.
