The Padmaa Jaipur began as a traditional haveli, built in 1735 by Shri Seva Ram Ji. The family was known for their jewellery and was a thriving business for seven generations. Today, the property is a haveli hotel providing an urban oasis in the middle of Jaipur's walled districts. It is close to several iconic landmarks of the Pink City, such as the City Palace complex and the Albert Hall Museum. When they're not out adventuring, guests can take advantage of the haveli's amenities and services. These include a cozy spa and a pool area, along with courtyard spaces with a lounge-like atmosphere.
Padmaa Jaipur gets its name from Shrimati Padmaa Devi Shah, the beloved grandmother of the current generation operating the haveli hotel. The residence itself was built back in 1735, when their ancestor Shri Seva Ram Ji answered the royal summons of Jaipur's founder, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. For seven generations, the family served as jewellers, eventually transitioning into hoteliers in this modern era.
Although the era of the Maharajas has passed, Padmaa Jaipur still embraces slivers of their era's extravagance. The accommodations and spaces of the haveli are touched up in lavish decorative styles that evoke hints of decadence. The play of light and shadows created by the curtains and illuminations at the hotel creates a ritzy atmosphere reminiscent of swanky Western hotels. The suites are classic heritage rooms that have been restored to each detail, then done in gorgeous color themes that complement the historic architecture. Classic features include jharokha arches and intricate lattice windows, contrasted by cushy modern furnishings.
