The origin of Hotel Cecil dates back over 220 years. It was built in the year 1800 by Amiyo Kumar Goswami. The property was established as a hotel in 1940 and is run by the fourth generation of Goswami's descendants. Its great condition is a testament to their dedication to the hospitality trade. Although the property has undergone modernizations, it has retained its antique furniture and interiors, creating an ambiance that evokes nostalgia while providing present-day coziness.

Location is great as it’s central and close to metro.

The bed was comfortable, the staff was nice and helpful and everything like the shower and toilet worked excellently.

A simple but clean hotel in a good part of town. Probably one of the best value-for-money stays in Kolkata.
