Daspan House is a posh boutique hotel set in a century-old sandstone mansion, nestled in a peaceful residential neighborhood near the city center. Choose from the hotel's 18 uniquely themed guest rooms, and spend your holiday exploring Jodhpur, Rajasthan's Blue City. Visit historic quarters and landmarks, and shop in bazaars and markets that have been operating for centuries. When you need a break, take a refreshing dip in the rooftop infinity pool, enjoying the town views. At the on-site restaurant and bar, guests can savor local and international flavors complemented by inventive new mixed drinks and cozy, familiar beverages.
While much of its earlier history was swept away by time, what we do know about Daspan House is that it was a lavish haveli built in 1921. Before being turned into a luxurious boutique hotel, the mansion was the ancestral home of Siddharth Daspan. During the 1990s, the haveli was already being operated as a hotel by Siddarth's parents, though the young Daspan would later further transform the property upon acquiring it. He partnered up with his friend, Varun Jalan, and rebranded the property as a heritage boutique hotel. Varun handled the entrepreneurial side of the business, while Siddharth worked on the design and aesthetics. They reimagined the hotel as a stylish spot where Jodhpur's cool kids should hang out, making Daspan House part of an ongoing paradigm shift that celebrates a destination's heritage and culture.
Although it was built in 1921, Daspan House was still designed in the traditional Rajasthani architecture, though also influenced by Edwardian elements. The property also uses the same iconic Thar Desert sandstone seen on many of Jodhpur's palaces and landmarks. Other familiar elements on the exterior include jharokha balconies and parapets, complemented by windows of a colonial fashion. The garden is carefully maintained and combines the aesthetics found in Victorian hedges and Mughal lawns.
For its 18 guest rooms, each has its own unique decorative theme, making use of colors and configurations that stand out from one another. All rooms are equipped with upcycled then custom-cut furniture, making use of existing material and reducing waste. Each room also has a windowside nook where you can sit and enjoy a book and a cup of local tea while enjoying the refreshing ambiance of the garden. Other notable interior elements include landings with spiral staircases and chandeliers, showcasing a ritzy yet historic charm.

Trendy and imaginative are fitting descriptors for Old Loco, the restaurant & bar of Daspan House. Clad in sunset hues, the establishment provides a cozy, lounge-like space where guests and travelers can dine, socialize, and unwind. Treat yourself to plates of Indian delicacies like ker sangri and gatta curry, or international dishes such as wild mushroom risotto and wok-tossed stir fries. They also offer signature Marwari thaali platters, filled with seasonal flavors.
For beverages, choose from a wide selection of local and international labels as well as original cocktails and mocktails. Their menu also offers local teas, sodas, and fruit juices.
Daspan House is proud to host destination weddings on its beautiful property. They offer seasonal packages for bookings and privatizations, though final quotes are subject to negotiation. As a boutique hotel, they only cater to celebrations on the smaller side, though they do have two venues on offer. Each can accommodate between 90 to 120 guests, and both can be reserved for a celebration for a strict maximum of 160 guests. Apart from the venues, food and beverages can also be included as Daspan House has its own restaurant and licensed bar. They also have partner planners, decorators, stylists, and performers who can be nominated to handle your ceremony and reception.

Owners Siddharth and Valun just don't want guests to enjoy a pampered stay; they also encourage travelers to experience the rich culture and history of Jodhpur. They have partnered with local industries, guides, as well as communities to offer a wide array of immersive tours and activities that shouldn't be missed.
Explore the streets and alleys of Jodhpur with a guided Heritage Walk Tour, visiting landmarks, workshops, and bazaars. After that, unwind back at the hotel with a champi, a therapeutic head, neck, and shoulder massage. Another wonderful experience is the Heritage Liquers tasting session, where attendees can try a range of historic herbal alcohols, each of which is uniquely formulated by the noble and royal families that imbibed them.
If you'd like to see what's outside Jodhpur, you can arrange a Guda Bishnoi Jeep Safari. You'll be visiting native Bishnoi villages where you'll see up close how local industries work. You'll also witness how the Bishnois protect the environment, including caring for endangered species such as the Thar blackbuck antelopes.
As for days you'd rather stay at the hotel and take things easy, you can take a dip in the rooftop infinity pool, or keep fit with a yoga session in the garden. You can also arrange for a cooking class, so you can take home authentic Rajasthani recipes.
Since Daspan House hosts weddings, it's worth inquiring if they can also accommodate smaller celebrations such as birthday parties or anniversaries. They also have an on-site restaurant & bar, which may be able to provide a private table and personalized service if you make an arrangement along with your dinner reservations. You can contact them via their website's inquiry form, or email.
