Overview

Ryokan Fushioukaku is a beautiful property that was built in the Showa era. The highlight of the property are its healing hot springs which are said to contain natural radium, and you can relax in the open-air springs while enjoying the mountain views or, if you time your visit right, views of the cherry blossoms. There are separate baths for men and women, and the property has a total of 7 hot spring baths: two indoors and five outdoors. If you'd rather have a private dip, you'll be delighted to know that the rooms here come with open-air baths. Some of the rooms are equipped with massage chairs for even more relaxation. Read on to learn more about Ryokan Fushioukaku!

History

Established in 1933, seven years into the Showa era, the property has beautiful historic features that are preserved even with the recent renovations it went through. The rooms are the most indicative of the property's pedigree.

Design and Architecture

Most of the rooms are styled according to traditional Japanese aesthetics, with tatami mats, chabudai, sliding doors, and tatami chairs. Furthermore, the rooms come in four different types: modern Sukiya, mingei, naturalist, and generic Asian, so you can savor vibrant flavors of history! The open-air baths also embrace the historic ideal with a rock-cut structure mounted by a kirizuma roof.
