The 550-hectare (1369-acre) estate is full of fresh greenery that's meticulously maintained. The hotel also aims toward ecotourism by adopting eco-friendly and sustainable practices like composting and the use of solar panels and an electric vehicle in the future. History

Le Mas de Peint had humble beginnings as a sprawling sheep farm dating back to the 1600s and featuring a 350-year-old country house. In 1950, cattleman Jacques Bon discovered it and decided to renovate and transform it into a welcoming hotel. He collaborated with his architect wife, Lucille, to refurbish the property and opened it as a hotel in 1994. After Jacques' passing in 2010, his son Frédéric picked up the reins and dedicated himself to maintaining and updating the property. Now, Frédéric and his wife, Clémence, run the hotel, offering excellent hospitality and enriching experiences that reflect the family's rancher origins.

Design and Architecture

Le Mas de Peint is a perfect picture of Provencal elegance, with its stunning stonework facade typical to farmhouses from that era and region. Inside, you'll find antiques and other interesting items reflecting the property's past, such as saddles and original stone fireplaces. The flagged floors and exposed wooden beams on the ceilings add to the warm, rustic vibe. The hotel's surroundings also play a part, with vines and shrubs integrating with the buildings.

Dining

Enjoy a farm-to-table dining experience at Le Mas de Peint's gourmet restaurant headed by Columbian-origin chef Juan Ipuz. The kitchen team ensures sustainable agriculture by promoting local seasonal produce. Fresh ingredients are sourced from the on-site farm and vegetable garden; local producers are also prioritized when anything needs to be sourced from outside. The meals use fish from the Mediterranean Sea and meat products from organic farms such as La Crau and Les Alpilles. Thanks to the chef's Columbian heritage, you can find a unique twist to traditional French recipes.
